A Night in December

A chilly still night in December
was about to be awaken by the dawn.
My eyelids keeps getting heavier,
but they refuse to give in to the yawn.

To have fallen asleep again did I pretend,
yet myself it will always be impossible for me to deceive.
Through time and space did my mind extend,
stopping at moments where in us something appeared to live.

When in your arms you held me,
was when the happiest I ever felt.
Whenever your smile did I see,
with such warmth that my heart melt.

Days, dusks, nights and dawns I have lived through.
Lost in the dark and burnt by the sun I have been.
Nothing was as painful as the blues from missing you.
For you're the only light that can forever be seen.
