Mrs. Nevenka Bagranoff



Mrs. Nevenka Bagranoff Born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Daughter of Rev. D. Gradinaroff. Graduated from American College for Girls at Constantinople, BA 1901. In 1905 she meets her husband Rev. Tzvetko Bagranoff, while he is a teacher in the American College in Samokov. 1905 she works with him and Nedka Evanova as Bible worker and teacher in Pirdop. July 1905 Nevenka and Tzvetko move to USA, where they minister to two Presbyterian churches in PA. In 1907 they started their missionary work to the Bulgarian immigrants in the tri-City area. She spoke English, French, Armenian, Greek and a few Slavic languages. Her social, musical and organizational skills made her a leading figure among the Bulgarian immigration community. Mrs. Bagranoff had finished a specialization course in social science in New York. For 12 years she was first secretary of the Slavic, French, Armenian and Greek departments of the International Institute, and industrial secretary for WWCA in St. Louise, MO. 1
