I got to teach French this passed Summer for the Upward Bound program at Oakland, California's extremely beautiful Mills College. I had eight great students in my French class, as well as the many students for whom I subbed for three days in the 10th grade English Shakespeare class. I had a wonderful time. My French students were as follows: * Dagoberto Cuevas, aka "Théo" * Catherine Rash, aka "Sophie" * Francisca Jimenez, aka "Catherine" * Francisco Castro, aka "François" * Vuthy Tuy, aka "Vathé" * Chenda Duong, aka "Lise" * Javarte Bobino, aka "Jerémy", and * Truc Nguyen, aka "Yasmine" |
This is my friend Leah Casey. She's a law student at the University of California at Berkeley. She was an assistant to Mr. Shultz for the Summer. Here we are on our way to see a production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in Santa Cruz. |
Here is Mr. Todd Shultz on the same bus trip to Santa Cruz, California. He is with his son Daniel. Do you see a resemblance? |
Here are some of Mr. Shultz's students on our way to Santa Cruz. |
Voilà "Théo" (Dagoberto Cuevas) et moi. Théo est un des récipendaires du prix de "Most Improved". Avant ce cours de français, il ne savait rien de cette langue. Mais il a bien fait, et maintenant il en sait des choses. |
Et voilà tous les gagnants! |
