PAIN
You are the other side of glory; unerring and swift,
The luminous stars obscured by clouds.
Though you come in a diction of torrent
Sombre and black, but conserve the truth
Of ashes perfectly-
You give days and nights the complexion
Of watchful firmament
Letting sun dig in fortune on cruel summer
When shadows become our decisions.
You make drizzles a delight
Bringing new breezes, azurine sky
When our footsteps faltered and
Days mumble in furrows of strange weather.
And you never leave us
As dreams collapse under a harvest-moon
Or some lilacs lose prospects
Adding sobriety to an earthbound street;
Grasses and rivers all follow, seemingly
Life touches the earth.
