Love is like a rainbow
Appearing one moment
Brilliant and vibrant
With color and life
Then slowly it fades away
Leaving behind starkness
I have yet to find
A rainbow that lasts
Long enough for me
To find the pot of gold
That waits at the other side
It teases and taunts
Letting me reach the middle
Before diminishing beneath my grasp
