Welcome to Paris. Please be relaxed because this place is only a simple extension of my Home Pages in Okinawa, south of Japan. I have been to Paris several times in the past on my business travels. I liked the sophisticated atomosphere. When I was young I used to be a fond reader of Saint-Exupery. I read most of his works. Once I read the translation of some works of the Russian emigre Philosopher Nicholai Belgerev who admired the grandeur of the Cathedrals in Paris. It is true that the rose windows of, for instance in Chartre are literally overwhelming. Long time ago I travelled to Chatroux on an evening of Easter on TGV, the French Shinkansen or bullet train. Probably it was my own pilgrimage. One we stayed at a luxurious hotel in front of the Terminal station near Opera. It was so expensive and I and my companions moved to a small and cozy hotel near the Etoile. I love the French word--L'espoir. Andre Marlaux. Oh yes, one of his works which I brouht in through a custom of a then totalitarian state was confiscated. Memoir of Espoir or Hope by Charles de Gaulle is also inspiring. Vol de la nuit. The destination in the dark times. It was and still is Paris. That is the light of Paris. A friend of mine who happened to be a French who worked for a province government, prefectural goverment they say, was driving a black Citroen at crazy high speed. The voiture or auto could even climb the staircase. The European friend said Concorde is the fastest commercial airplane ever made. That is true. In front of a church, boys and girls were in their hands burning candle lights in the white costume. It was the ceremony of confirmation. They were living angels.
