I left my earrings in
his room,
I left the earrings
that I wore.
They're on the night
stand by his bed,
Now I can go back there
once more.
He never held me close
and said "remain"
When sunlight splashed
against the window pane.
He waved his hand and
let me find my own way down the hall,
But still and all...
I left my earrings in
his room,
I wasn't thinking of
romance.
They're on the night
stand by the lamp.
I thought I'd left
them there by chance.
And now the afternoon
seems gray and grim,
Can't concentrate on
anything but him,
I sit here wond'ring
how much time that I should let go by,
I guess that's why...
I left my earrings in
his room,
So I could go back
there again,
So I could see his
face once more.
The only question now
is when?
