Life and Love, Liberty, Happiness and Joy, Peace, Good Will, Friendship, Vigilance, Honor, Truth, Justice, Pride in Duty/Work. Chivalry is broader than the cavalry where it's name originates; knights think of others before themselves as a courtesy, are brave, strong of spirit and body, and will take up arms to defend any who are in need; the military can be thought of as knights [ the officers as knights and the enlisted as squires, although more often than not the enlisted work harder ].

The Coat of Arms for Thatcher may be in the world's oldest order of chivalry, the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes, and of Malta, more commonly known as the Order of Malta or simply the S.M.O.M., has its origins in a hospice and confraternity in Jerusalem founded some time before the First Crusade (1099).

There is some controversary as to the cross, but for a time the cross of the order was a moline cross, it is now as the flag shows it; a maltese cross.

One of the most ancient and best known of the several coats of arms granted to the English family of Thatcher or Thacher is that described as follows (Burke, Encyclopaedia of Heraldry, 1844): Arms.--"Gules, a cross moline argent, on a chief or, three grasshoppers proper." [translation: on a shield of red centered under the chief (top third) place a silver or white moline cross, on a gold or yellow chief place three grasshoppers of their proper color.] Crest.--"A Saxon sword or seax proper." [The crest was usually placed on a knight's helmet above the shield/coat].

Instructions on knighthood;  some links that may help to inform and better prepare you to battle the dragons [that is the unknowns] of life. The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, Navy Sea Cadets, Junior ROTC, and similar activities teach teamwork and social skills more than simple sports.  If you want to do anything later in life that will require these skills, you can't do better than the Scouts
