HRH Prince Andrew:

Introduction To Prince Henry, the Duke of York:

Prince Edward was born in February 1960. Although Prince Andrew was for the most part educated at Gordonstoun in Scotland, he spent some time as a pupil al Lakefield College in Canada. His gregarious nature and good looks made hime very popular, particularly with the opposite sex.

After school, Andrew, as did his older brother, entered the military. After some time he rose to be a career naval officer. Prince Andrew saw action in the Falklands Campaign in 1982. Although Andrew served in the navy, he was a "fearless" helicopter pilot, a hobby he enjoys greatly.

In 1986, Prince Andrew became engaged to Sarah Ferguson. On July 23 of the same year, amid a heady atmosphere of public hysteria and ancient pomp and pageantry, Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson at Westminster Abbey. Both exuberant and high-spirited characters, the Duke and Duchess of York (as was their title once they married) seemed a perfect match for each other, sharing outdoor pursuits, flying, exploring and skiing, as well as a boisterous sense of humour.

In 1988 and in 1990, Prince Andrew and Princess Furgi where blessed with two daughters, one named Princess Beatrice and the other named Princess Eugenie. The unusual names reflect the couple's affinity with the Victorian Era.

In the begining, this was the ideal family. Andrew loved, and still does, his wife and his children and he was the ideal father and husband. after the birth of their two children, this fairy-tale life began to fall appart. The formal separation of the Duke and Duchess of York was announced in 1992, six years after they were married. Although the young princesses are living with their mother, they frequently spend time in the company of their father.
