Hey, hey! Everybody still alive and kicking out there in your various spots in Kentucky? Glad you decided to visit!
For all of you that don't know, I'm Jayme...yeah, the girl that made sure everyone at GSP knew how to spell her name before they left. So I guess I'm known for being crazy, but I don't guess that's necessarily a bad thing in all cases.
Anyway, where do I begin? The first day, I suppose. I got to Centre right at 2:00, the last minute for sign-in. That had something to do with me leaving my sunglasses at Camp Wildcat Hollow (see Camp Wildcat Hollow Page). At any rate, I only had enough time to get my stuff unloaded (all 2000 pieces of it!) before having to be in a hall meeting at 2:30. That was pretty crazy because my parents had to be at a meeting across campus at the same time! At the hall meeting I met everyone who I'd be sharing a bathroom with for the next 5 weeks, and proceeded to inform everyone that I have a cheesy grin. That was derived from friends at Camp Martin, and I only mentioned it at all because we had to come up with an adjective to describe ourselves.
Anyway, after that, it was back to Norton for a meeting with our parents and all 352 other Scholars. Boring! Then on to the library lawn for an ice cream social. That's where I met Jason Martin. I saw Jackie, his sister that I knew from church camp, and went over to say hi. I knew that Jason would be coming, so I had been looking for Jackie all day so that she couild introduce us. I'm glad that I saw her, because otherwise I would've been pretty lonely in all of those meetings and at dinner.
But enough about the first day. There's so much to tell, so little space to tell it in. My major was French, and the most commmon phrase heard in there was "En Francais." My minor class was Math and Art, with Betty and JVD (Jason VanDorsten). Our seminar was an awesome experience.
All of you that I met, I'm glad to have met you. Each one of you has affected my life in some way. I didn't say that those ways were necessarily good. I mean, come on. Who wouldn't be traumatized by seeing 20 plus guys parade around on a stage in women's clothes, some of those clothes being your own?
Okay, so my page isn't finished. As you can tell, I have too many projects and not enough time. Come see me again when I can tell you more! Also, coming soon to a GSP page near you...pics! (May or may not include guys in drag.)
Okay, as promised by me, lots of pics of GSP! (Oh, stop the rhyming madness!)
Members of my major, French
My seminar group getting a little crazy.
Our HALL DADDY in camo, in the midst of his chillins, the fine ladies of 2nd Evans.
Aaron, Gordon, how come Jill's the only one looking happy?
Brett, Amar, this is a result of too much free time, right?
Substitute Brandi for Amar and see above.
Again, I don't know what Mike, Annie, I, and whoever took this pic were thinking! (BTW, that IS a price tag on my head. I have since forgotten my worth, but I'm thinking it was around $7.95.)
Leave it to my roommate, the imaginative Ashley, to sexually harass a metal man minding his own business.
Brian, I've stopped asking questions.
Ryan and Courtney weren't sure why the sign was there.
Sorry, Mary, but Chris, me, Annie, and Heather weren't moving!
Amar and Jason, two of the most elusive men at GSP.
A resting place during a long, hot day in Louisville. I'm not sure why Ming's by a corn dogs stand.
Evans lobby rats Brandi, Brett, Holly, Scott, and Amar.
More Evans lobby rats.
Heather Hobbs and I on the last night of GSP.
That's me, in the red hat. =) Actually, it's the French major celebrating Bastille Day (July 14).
Another shot of my seminar group.
Me and Gordon, the guy I "stalked" all summer, looking mighty spiffy for the last night banquet.
One of the places we stopped for our photo scavenger hunt in seminar.
And last, but not least...Noble Powell and Jayme Holloway starring in delirious dance duet.
