My Friends, the Lovers
By: Jerry Landry

A brushed hair,
A light touch,
It's present in every move,
In every look, in every contact.
You two are in love.

A rocket scientist is at a loss,
Shakespeare's words fall short
To describe the bond betwixt you two,
And the world can only marvel
As you two build a new world around you.

Love as love should be,
Love as love was meant to be,
Love living up to its fullest potential.
You two are love personified,
And the world loves you for your love.

You're everything we want to be
And everything we fear that we're not.
We can only wish for half of what you have
And expect only a quarter of that.
Love! Love! Love and be loved!
You two deserve love!
You deserve to be what you are:
Love!

-To my dear friends Ryan and Amanda on the occasion of their first anniversary. May it be the first of many! I love you both more than you shall ever know and wish that my meager words could express the happiness that I feel for the two of you at this moment.
