Smitten
By: Jerry Landry

I see you everywhere since I started seeing you,
You follow me, I follow you, things linger in the air.
Is this just fate or crazy coincidences pulling us?
Should I even ask these questions? Do I even dare?
Can I distinguish between flirting and manners?
This is a tricky situation we're in, a sticky affair.
Am I just being desperate or do I really like you?
Is this a move out of spite or do I truly care?
We're dancing the dance of life, perhaps together.
Tell me how you'd like to dance, when and where.
If this is true, if all of this serendipity is real,
Then what we have is something that is unique and rare.
I'm smitten over you, people have seen your looks at me,
Is it serendipity? Is love banging at our door like a bear?
Should I even ask these questions? Do I even dare?
I'm smitten. That's all that I know.
