Sonnet 4

The interregnum of my Heart’s control
Draws to a close and yet I feel no pain
Though Heart’s vengeance shall take a costly toll.
In the end, I shall by and by more gain.
The Mind is good for many things, grant you,
For the study of historical lore,
Or arithmatic or science, true,
But the heart, ah the heart, shall learn you more.
I cannot abide by the rule of Mind,
For his doctrines enslave me to reason.
Life has no meaning without Heart; I find
That my passions have no proper season.
-----Thus, I join the ranks of Heart’s brigade now
-----And to his rule restored my life avow.
