Touch

One touch,
That’s all it takes

I touch you once, and I’m mesmerized
I’m your captive slave, now and forever,
No matter how I try to break your spell,
No matter how long I endeavor.

Your hold on me has no limits,
Neither time nor space can break it.
However, I don’t want to break your hold.
From you I never want to quit.
I would be content to touch you all day
To just stare at you from where I sit.

I feel for you emotions I have never
Thought to imagine much less feel.
I feel as if I’m on a roller coaster,
Riding a wave of emotions on which I reel.
All of these little pins pricking at my soul
With a single kiss on your sweet lips I shall seal.

Oh, my love, my darling,
How I want to be with you forever
In a cozy little home in a meadow
And leave your side never.

However, that is not to be, is it?
The Fates have conspired
As they often do in love
And our love have mired.

I have to break from your spell
So that I can go on without you
So that I can survive despite my loss
Of the love for you that grew.

I want your lips, your eyes
I want your legs, your hips
I want your soul, your heart
Because mine always rips.

One touch,
That’s all it takes
