Wishes Are For Fishes

1.
The door closes on one
While the truth remains.

2.
We had some good times, you and I
Some good laughs,
A few good pictures,
A month of escape.
I need more.

3.
‘He’s not good enough for you
I can give you something better
I am meant for you
You are meant for me’

4.
Soft face, warm hands
Smooth skin, sweet eyes.
He fits me like a jigsaw piece,
The last I needed.
The picture is clear now.
You only made it cloudy.

5.
The door closes on one
While the truth remains.

6.
Accusations, mudslinging,
I’ve had enough.
The beauty is shattered.
What you were has been destroyed
By what you want us to be.

7.
I can’t hurt you anymore.
I can’t blame myself anymore.
I set up a trap,
And you fall for it.
You’re done and over.

8.
Dreams of what might have been,
A glorious friendship,
My mentor, my friend.
Gone now, faded,
The picture is clear now.
No more clouds.
No more dreams.
Only Truth.

9.
Life brings people in,
Life draws people out,
The Truth remains.
Shame it couldn’t be you.

10.
The door closes on one
While the Truth remains.
