Basilica Marija Pomagaj, the largest pilgrimage centre in
Slovenia.
This church was originaly St. Vid church, built in 15th century. In 1772, it
was annexed a chapel of St. Anton Puščavnik and a Mary chapel in 1800. In
this later, it is a beautiful painting of St. Mary with a child. Because of
this painting Brezje became one of the most visited pilgrimage areas. |
