A plague spot situated on the main
square in Maribor. The main square was made in the first half of the 13th
century. First mention of Maribor in a document: the second half of 12th
century. Maribor is second largest city in Slovenia and a business,
educational, research, cultural, industrial and medical centre of North-East
Slovenia. The downtown buildings date from 12th to 19th century. One of the
main attractions in the town is also a 300 years old vine. Every fall, there
is held a solemn vintage.
Near Maribor is a ski centre - Mariborsko Pohorje - where each year is held
women's world competition Zlata lisica (Golden fox) in slalom and giant
slalom. |
