A Rare Smile of Joy

Eyes closed to the world, I see
Scintillating prismatic lights;
Shades of beauty real enough to touch
Coalesce in the vacuum of my heart.

Blood-tears shed for remembrance of love
Stain dove-white skin.
Forsaken by all - left to wander -
Sands of time flow through tired veins.

Unfelt hands draw me back to Araby -
Childish infatuation or first experience of love ?
A truly rare smile of joy - for her;
Forever pure in my memory of youth.
