Ajax this week:

FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE!!!!
With other teams playing bad games on other fields, with Vitesse and Feyenoord
playing draws Ajax could easily reach the preliminary rounds of the the Champions
League. However Ajax again could not live up to any expectations whatsoever.
FC Utrecht was polite enough to make that very clear in an early stage of the match
Vierklau and Grim both were the clowns of Ajax(Really, when is somebody gonna
sack Grim, he deserves it big times).Touzani took the lead for Utrecht in the 8th minute
and v.d.Gaag doubled the score in the 35th minute. Ajax did not get in shape at all
Chances there were plenty, but finishing was an unsolvable problem. Even social
players like Laudrup lost confidence in Arveladze and tried selfishly but justified to
score himself. After halftime substitute double his production of the season in the
67th minute,only this time in the wrong goal, his own. The only goal that counted
for Ajax came in the 69th minute, Knopper made clear that he was the topscorer of
Ajax and that is strange since he is a midfielder. But overall he was one of the most
reasonable players this season together with Laudrup and Gronkjaer. If Twente tried
a little harder the humiliation would be complete,cause then Ajax would have to play
Intertoto competition. To be honest that would be the ultimate painful expedirion that
Ajax deserved after dissappointing the fans this much in the centennial season of
the greatest Dutch team ever.Good luck next season, dear Ajax, let's hope next
year we will be successfull.......
Ajax next week: No more games next week. The end of a very weak season has
come. Ajax has won the 5th place and should shame itself. Even the last day
of competition the 3rd place was in sight but Ajax failed miserably. UEFA
Cup placing is the result and serious thinking in the summerbreak is required.

Competition this week:
Feyenoord played a 1-1 against FC Twente this last round and that was enough
for the 3rd place and the preliminary round of next season Champions League. At home
they had still a tough game against FC Twente. Vitesse had big chances of reaching that
same 3rd place but did not get further than 2-2 home against Fortuna S and now have to
settle for 4th place. FC Twente saw their season ending without European football,
also AZ did not get any European tickets. Heerenveen had a draw at Graafschap 1-1,
PSV won at home and Nilis scored the first of the 2-0 and that was his last goal for
PSV, he leaves the club, NEC lost at PSV but still had enough cause MVV did not
pass Willem II, 1-1 at home.Den Bosch relegated directly, allthough they won with
7-0 at home from Sparta, but direct competitor Cambuur L also won at home
with 2-1 from RKC. Again the last playing round of the season was a big climax
and that made this last round a very nice round to follow...

Moment of the week:
A total ruined season of Ajax is finally over. It has been a big shame for all fans. Even
the last day Champions League was still a possibility and not grabbing that chance
is an absolute disgrace. All the same Ajax prepares for next season and after buying
Galasek from Willem II Ajax officially informed about defender Regilio Vrede from
Roda JC. Winter is the only international that is selected for the Holland squad this
Euro 2000 and it shows how weak the Ajax-fame is at the moment.
AGAIN:As a last item, I would like to bring on the question whether this homepage
should be continued next season. If you are a regular visitor of this page and
like it, than please write me an Email in which you tell me why you like it and
if you want it to continue. If I get little or no reply this page will probably stop
