Ajax this week: A match that was originally planned at March 5th. But Ajax had to get rid of this tough match right at the beginning of the second half. And it was to be expected that Ajax would have a tough night considering the bad play they have shown the last few weeks. But the only ugly thing they showed was a wrong colour of trousers cause childish mr.Bossen was the referee and did not allow Ajax to play white pants, so black pants it was. But back to the game. Ajax showed some real good action against Heerenveen, but both were very cautious and nervous not too loose any points. And despite all good Ajax efforts it was Heerenveen who opened the score in the 38th minute through Lurling, who lobbed over Grim, and Nieuwenburg and Chivu could not stop the goal. But in the 42nd minute Gronkjaer(who alone played a good solid match) passed it in front of the goal where Machlas finished it. And the second half was Ajaxflavoured again. Machlas should have had a penalty after being pulled in the penalty-area, and also good chances for Gronkjaer and Laudrup, who wanted to finish a pass of artistically. The score remained a draw and in the end it was more than what a lot of fans expected I guess, and Ajax remains on a 4-point distance of PSV, who will play Feyenoord on thursday. Ajaxtrainer Wouters had another tough evening, with the whole crowd against him. And not without a cause. Still Ajax looks bad in the overall picture, and I agree with the fans that Wouters is a very important cause of that form the players are in.
Ajax next match: On sunday Ajax will play at home against the number last of the league,Cambuur L,and it will NOT be a problem. This team can even be beaten by an Ajax in bad form. Wouters need not to worry about this home-match. A sure win.
Rest of the competition: The competition was kinda boring this midweek, only FC Twente looked very confident and strong in their 4-1 win over AZ. RKC kept the strong line from before the winterstop in a 1-0 win over Willem II, the last is sliding down to place no.10. MVV-Roda JC and Cambuur L-NEC ended how they began and were boring games. Furthermore Vitesse had their third win in a row under new coach Koeman, a 3-1 win in Arnhem in the eastern derby against Graafschap. On thursday PSV played Feyenoord, and it is quite strange that these words get out of my mouth, but a thank you for the Rotterdam squad is in place cause they beat PSV in Eindhoven with 0-1.Allthough nobody can deny that that was not a very undeserved win, still it meant that PSV did not walk further away from Ajax and if Ajax wins the match they have to catch up(FC Twente)the difference is only a single point. But the luck that is accompanying the Feyenoord eleven is almost the same unbelievable. Feyenoords position in the table is very undeserved, when you watched the games on tv, they should be somewhere around place 10, where they belong this season. Luck is obviously with those who need it...(cause of lack of everything else)
Moment of the week: BIM BAM!!! Bells are ringing for Jan Wouters, exitbells...When is this sherade gonna be over?It is really not understandable that Wouters cannot understand the reaction of the fans. Ajax is looking bad, very bad and the time has come for a trainerchange. The trainingstour was a shame, the cupdefeat should have been the last drop and tonight we again saw a poor playing Ajax. Wouters is doing the good name and fame of Ajax no good. Moment of the week for sure. I won't let any opportunity go by to point out that things gotta change very soon or the board should take their responsibilities and sack Jan Wouters.
