Ajax-Willem II

Ajax this week:
Ajax seems to be recovering, was it for real this time or was the opponent to weak?Willem II
did not give the expected resistance. It was a roaring afternoon in Amsterdam where
the fans openly showed their anger towards Kales, who is considered to be the cause
of the leave of Blind and Haarms. Actions were taken, like standing with their back to the
field by the F-side and some little actions in the catacombs of the stadium. Back to the game
there was reason for protest when Willem II opened the score. Referee Koopman saw a
handsball of Knopper in the penalty area and Abdellaoui had no trouble scoring the 0-1
in the 36th minute. But Ajax is irritated the last few weeks and got Willem II under
immediate pressure again and that was awarded by a quick goal in the 41st minute.
Machlas scored and got yellow from the bad whistling Koopman for a childish
reason as a bonus. After halftime the same thing that caused the penalty against Ajax
happened on the other side, but Koopman did not whistle. That gave Ajax even
more reason to score and so Knopper scored nicely through a freekick in the 56th
minute. Dani signed for the final score of 3-1 in the 67th minute with a soft roll
past van Fessem. Both Knopper and Dani rushed over to Wouters to thank him
after they scored and standing by their trainer showed some good signs. If they
keep trying so hard to keep Wouters in the seat and it pays off with wins like today
I can even bear with Wouters for a while longer. Vierklau got injured after 57 seconds
and will be out for about 3-4 weeks.
Next Ajax game:
Next sunday Ajax has a homematch again, this time against de Graafschap and that
is a breeze after the tough matches against Heerenveen,PSV and Willem II. This
match can be won easily and with acceptable scores. Something Ajax needs badly.

Competition this week:
PSV took care of Heerenveen in the evening of February 13th. Van Nistelrooy shows
what a gifted player he is every week and so he did it this week as well. 3 goals were
started of his feets, and one got finished by himself, a 0-3 for PSV was deserved.
Feyenoord were lucky again and could come back a few times in the match in Arnhem
against Vitesse. But both teams played a most attractive match with an equal amount
of chances and so the 3-3 was a good score. Also for Ajax who did not see Feyenoord
walk away. FC Twente were weak in their game against and in the no.18 of the league
FC Den Bosch, a 0-0 draw seemed to make the trip for Twente obsolete.  AZ won
on friday its away game against NEC with 1-2. The table shows the traditional
top 3 back in the top, PSV followed by Ajax and Feyenoord on 7 points but with
1 match more played. FC Twente on 9 which overtook Heerenveen.

Moment of the week
:
What Ajax needs is no sacking of Wouters, no money no nothing, just a cool player
like van Nistelrooy. This guy shows so much class and it has been noticed by the foreign
clubs. Chelsea allready raised a bid at the attacker. With a 27 goal total he will end this
season with a very goodlooking 35 goals. The technique of this player is superb but
he always keeps his head up high. A wonderful player to observe each week!
But Ajax is sligtly stribbling back into the form they need to have the following
weeks which are crucial in the Championshiprace. On the one hand I support the
actions of the F-side fans against Kales, but on the other hand I started thinking
that if Ajax needs just that tiny little insy winsy extra support to play like they did
today at some moments, why not cheer for them instead of cursing Kales....
Let's just give it a try....
