Ajax this week:
What a goal!!!That is what everybody would yell after the 5th goal made by Laudrup. Beauty in its purest form. And so was the whole match with 2 combatting teams, Ajax deserved the win and took it home from Tilburg.  Knoppermagic broke open the game, 2 perfect goals in the 3rd and 15th minute.Machlas, searching for his goals since a long time scored to everybody's relief in the 31st minute with a well decided goal. Bombarda brought Willem II to 3-1 just before halftime and despite the 2 countergoals(Sanou 52nd and Galasek 89th) Ajax also dominated the second half, Machlas doubling his confidence with a header in the 53rd minute. Then the Oooooh!-goal of Laudrup followed in the 86th minute, who really showed the superb class of this Danish superstar and good old Babangida(a little forgotten this season)scored the 3-6 in the 90th minute.
Ajax looked very confident and that was not totally expected after having more trouble than necessary with Vitesse and Dukla games.Ajax looks a serious contestant for the title this year now, and the good thing seems to be that when you look at this team you still think there is a truckload of unshown quality to come later in the season. The away-match against Willem II which is always tricky is taken very confidentally and for now it is only PSV that is the direct opponent for Ajax.
Ajax next week:Ajax plays at home against Fortuna S at October 13rd. And judging by Fortuna's achievements the last few weeks, this game should not be a problem, maybe even a game to give Machlas another selfasteemboost. The money goes on Ajax for sure, only question remaining is how big the victory will be...
Note for Ajax: 9

Rest of the competition:
Another proof this week that the Feyenoord Championship of last season was a fake, they are not the champions of this season so much is sure for now, certainly not with the 0-0 draw away in Alkmaar against AZ, and again they were lucky with the one point when you look more carefully.PSV looked very good, with a 7-0 home win over Sparta(not exactly the best opponent, but still)and van Nistelrooy seems unstoppable with another hattrick, PSV is still without loss of points and are the only ones who have really convinced this season, but Ajax is still clinging on real good. Willem II lost as written above so falls in the table, and RKC did it again, a win at home against Graafschap with 2-1 gave them the 4th place with the same amount of points as Feyenoord. Question remains if RKC will beat PSV home next week. Interesting game. Vitesse scored 5-1 at home against NEC, with a hattrick from van Hooydonk. The third hattrick was from Hamming from Fortuna S in their 4-1 win over Cambuur L. Roda JC also won in the last minute in the away game against FC Utrecht, who are starting to slide away,2-1. An interesting weekend with 3 nice looking scores, 3-6, 7-0 and 5-1. And of course it is too fantastic for words to see that last years champions are being unveiled as coward players who only win with luck and help of the referee.Feyenoord will have a big problem when it will try to keep up with PSV and Ajax.

Moment of the week:

Loss of the Rotterdamsquad is always moment of the week, but the only real moment was the Laudrup bang, the Knoppermagic continues and the Machlasrevival all friday in Tilburg.
For me personally the moment of the week was the game Westham Utd-Arsenal. My favourite team treated me good during my visit there, with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal. I saw a great game with a brilliant atmosphere. And Westham got their own Laudrup and Knopper combined in one player called Paolo Di Canio, who gave away a one man show. Good work Hammers, thanks for the show!!(photos will appear soon)
