Light A Candle

An unlit candle gives no light,
Only when it's burning, is it shining bright,
And life is empty, dull, and dark,
Until doing things for others gives the needed spark
That sets a useless life on fire
And fills the heart with new desire.

The light of friendship is like the light of
phosphorous~~seen plainest when all around is dark.
