This french canadian pie is simply

tooth!!!
Bake in hot oven at 400°F 10 minutes ; reduce heat to 350°F and bake 30 minutes more. Serve hot or cold.
In a heavy pan melt the butter. Add the flour and cook 1 minute. Mix the mapley syrup and milk together and add slowly, stirring constantly to butter and flour. Cook until thickened on medium heat stirring continously.
Pour into the cold tart shells and let cool completely. Decorate with whipped cream or nuts, as desired.
