OUT ON MY  OWN

In July of 1991 I began looking for my own apartment.  The apartment I found was downtown.  I moved into a small two bedroom with a friend of mine in Aug.  By Nov she was in labor with her baby and moving to another apartment.  So I now had our apartment to myself, my dog (Paws) and two cats (Tatoo and Pooky).

In March of 1992 I left Fargo to go to Job Corps in Clearfield, UT.  Job Corps is a gov't funded training program where students aged 16 to 24 can complete their education or go on to futher their education.  Since I had my HS diploma I was enrolled into a trade of my choice.  I chose Health Occupations, in this trade I recieved a CNA degree and a certificate of completion in Home Health Aide.

While I was in Job Corps I got pregnant with my first daughter.  In Aprilof 1993, I graduated from my trade and left UT to go to Denver, CO.  This is where my fiance (at the time) was.  He graduated a few weeks before me and went home and waited for me.  I arrived in Denver to meet my soon-to-be in-laws.  They accepted me right away and I became a member of the family.

On May 30th, 1993 I married James.  We were married at his grandfathers house in the back yard.  It was a small wedding, but everything was very nice.  The day after we drove with my parents to Fargo, ND.  Where I was raised.  The second picture  was taken about a month and a half later. I was pregnant with Destiny in both of thse pictures.

James and I lived in Fargo until Oct of 1993.  On Aug 9, 1993 my daughter, Destiny Tamara was born.  Pictures will be further down.  On Oct 17, 1993 the three of us moved back to Denver.

Shortly after we moved back to Denver I found out I was pregnant again with my second daughter.  Kamaya Gene was born June 15, 1994.  Destiny (11 mo), Kamaya (1 mo), and myself are shown here at our family reunion picinic.  By the end of the year James and I were divorced.  I continued to live in Denver for another year.

In June of 1995 I moved with the girls back to Fargo.  By July, I had an apartment with a friend and her son.  We are all shown here.  She later moved to Grand Forks. left to right: Stephen, Lea, Destiny (23 mo), Carissa, Kamaya (13 mo)

This picture was taken July of 1996.  Destiny was just about to be 4 yrs and Kamaya was 3 yrs old.  This is the summer before the girls moved to CO to live with their Grandma and Grandpa Weiland.  They left in April of 1997.  They now live in FL.

In July of 1998 I went to Gillette, WY.  I had thoughts of moving there.  After I got there I realized it was just not the place for me.  My cousins happened to be coming to Sturgis, SD that week so I came back to ND with them.  I would have driven my car, but the oil pump went out and caused the engine to throw a rod. In Aug, I met my best friend Sandy.    From 1998 to 2000 there isn't anyting extremely exciting to tell you. I did the basics (work, sleep, and eat).  I had fun with my friends.
