<BGSOUND SRC="landslide_fleetwood.mid" LOOP=INFINITE>
This page will be dedicated to the outstanding men  and women of law enforcement that I have the pleasure of working with day in and day out. Some have been with me through the long haul, and others are still trying to "figure" me out.

Call this a
"thank you" or a "dedication" page, either way it is written with extreme praise and glory to each and everyone of you. After each shift, I thank my LUCKY stars for you.  Without you wonderful people, the 8 hours would not only be long, but lonely. Thank you for your laughter, your jokes, words of  encouragement, or a praise of thanks, and angry transmissions that crack me up. And how could I forget that "Good cup of coffee."

Yes it is true, none of us are perfect, but are we really suppose to be?
Sincerely ,

The Badge
It is polished and shiney and looks so fine.
Once you earn it you have to toe the line.
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol  that you are the best.
It means honesty, integrity, and fairness to all.
Your life is never your own, but at the publics call.
NIght and day, any hour, it makes you a mark.
It doesn't protect you from a shot in the dark.
Over the years the shine starts to fade,
but brighter still is the man its made.
It is often what seperates you from the crowd.
It is a second family of which you are proud.
so now comes your time, you can't denied.
When you pin on your badge, wear it with pride
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.

The deputy stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, deputy.
How shall I deal with you?
have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The deputy squared his hsoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry bagdes
Can't always be a Saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,

And I never passes a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Amongst the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for  me here, Lord, I
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had so much,
But if you don't .... I understand."

There was silence all around the throne
Where the Saints had often trod.
As the deputy waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God.

"Step forward now, deputy,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come work a shift on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

FOR THE RECORD AND PASS ALONG
Each day passes,  and more and more people visit. Some find it amusing and other find it cut-throat. Of course I can not please each and every person who has been here. And actually my intention is not to please, but to humor. For the record, this site does not reflect any opinions other than my "very" own. This is not "THE DISPATCHERS" site. It was created by me.  The views and opinions may be similar to my co-workers, however, they in no way are responsible for the content found here, unless otherwise noted. 10.30.99
As you read the words I have written, you hear a song. The name of the song is Landslide. The words in this song are so appropriate for this "nice" page.  The words go something like this........Well I've been afraid of changes, cause I've built my life around you. Time may be colder, even children get older and I'm getting older too. And as you see my reflection in a snow covered hill, well a Landslide brings me down."  To me it is perfect on this page. If you ever hear the song, listen to the words. It's one of those "pondering" songs, it makes me wonder has my adult  life as a dispatcher made me afraid of change, because I built and lived my life around law enforcement. I'm getting older, along with everyone around me. Would a true landslide of lifes changes really bring me down, or would it be complete, to take the step of change. Change for the better of course.
