In support of 4th Inf. Div. and 854 Trans. Bn.

Second Tour Nov. 1969 to 1970

These were a few photos taken in and around Pleiku when I was in support of the 4th INF DIV.

Here are a couple of the Montagnard women walking in the nearby countryside, these women carried very large loads.

After moving to An Khe I didn't care for what I saw, so I transferred to 854th Trans Bn. near Tuy Hoa. Our base camp was there, however, I was in Vung Ro Bay area, I was placed with the Gurad Platoon, where before my arrival they unloaded ships.

I was only there about six months, but it was without a doubt a highlight to my tours in the "Nam". I say that because of the caliber of men I was working with, we were a small group, but a very strong platoon.

These photos and the one's to follow are all of the Vung Ro Bay area where we were below the mountains, in a cove. This was one of our Guntruck's, we did use it on occasion, and the other shot is of the bay looking down.

The next photos are of my tower and from inside it looking at the perimeter area.

These next two are of a couple ships, one I believe was called LLST, the other was a civillian ship dropping supplies.

We liked it when the civillian ships came in, we could check out their mess hall, anything was better than our mess hall, or so we thought.
