What is a 'Mike Golf?" A "Mike Golf' is Army slang for a Master Gunner. We have existed in some shape or form since the early 1400's in many different armies and branches of the service. Our primary function is to advise Commanders of Tank and Bradley units on training and employment issues. However, we do a hell of a lot more than that. From working in every level from the Platoon/Company/Battery/Troop to the Corps/Army level, Master Gunners influence every aspect of armored vehicle training. To try and capture what we are and what we do would take up a lot more than what I have for web storage, so just be satisfied in knowing that we "make it happen". |
