Why Chess?

Why Chess you ask? And on a basically military site? Easy, I say! Chess is a game.It is a game played by some of the most calculating minds in history. It is a game which requires the utmost of concentration and precalculations. It usurps the most brain power and thought process of any game I've ever played. It is exciting, challenging, and formost fun.

I've also always believed that if you were take a child and teach him to play at an early age,He would develope his mind much more rapidly than average. He would develope logic and reasoning skills far beyond his younger years.

Some of the best military minds in history were accomplished chess players as youngsters.(Remind me to do a history page for you).It was there that they learned to think, reason ,logic and maneuvers which gave them an edge over their opponents. It is in this spirit that I want to afford you a list of Chess links to which even the beginning player and the pro could find useful.Hope you can use and enjoy them as much as I have.
