Private Organizations and Veteran Groups

AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION: An independent, nonprofit, civilian organization primarily concerned with public understanding and acceptance of the pivotal role a well-manned, well-equipped and well-trained Air Force plays in the security of the nation.

AIR FORCE SERGEANT'S ASSOCIATION: A non-profit organization representing the professional and personal interests of active duty and retired enlisted members of the Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve.

AMERICAN RED CROSS: Provides basic humanitarian services to members of the armed forces, their families and veterans during peacetime and conflict on U.S. military installations both in the United States and around the world.

AMERICAN RETIREES ASSOCIATION: Is comprised of active, reserve and retired members of the Uniformed Services, male and female, across the United States. It was founded in 1984 for the exclusive purpose of addressing inequities in the Uniformed Services Former Spouses Protection Act (USFSPA), Public Law 97-252 (Title 10 USC 1408).

AMERICAN VETERANS: Membership is open to all men and women who have served honorably any time after September 15, 1940, or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Reserves or National Guard.

DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS: The official voice of the U.S.'s 2.1 million disabled veterans, their families and survivors.

GULF WAR RESOURCE CENTER: Hosted by the not-for-profit National Gulf War Resource Center, and offers research information on the Gulf War Syndrome.

MILITARY BENEFIT ASSOCIATION: A nonprofit organization of military personnel and civilian employees of the United States Government and their spouses which offers members insurance and other benefits.

THE AMERICAN LEGION: A patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization.

UNIFORMED SERVICES BENEFIT ASSOCIATION: A benefit Association exclusively for Active Duty Military, Military Veterans, Federal Employees and their families.

UNITED SERVICES ORGANIZATION: Provides a voluntary civilian agency through which the people of the nation may, in peace or war, serve the religious, spiritual, social, welfare, educational, and entertainment needs of the men and women in the Armed Forces within or without the territorial limits of the United States, and in general, to contribute to the maintenance of such men and women.

VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS: Supports programs to increase awareness of the sacrifices of America's veterans, promotes citizenship education, volunteerism and positive youth programs and facilitates aid for veterans and their families in need of medical, rehabilitative, educational and employment services.

VETERANS ORGANIZATIONS AND SUPPORT GROUPS: Links to veterans organizations and support groups, with an emphasis on sites serving Vietnam vets.

MILITARY MAIL / FRIENDS OF OUR TROOPS PAGE: They collect mail from individuals, groups of all kinds, churches, schools, etc. all across the country, mix it together, then send it to more than 1,000 places across the country and around the world.

TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ONLINE: A job and transition information source sponsored by the Army, Navy and Air Force Times.

TROOPS TO TEACHERS: The "Troops to Teachers" program is open to all active military personnel facing voluntary separation.

U.S. ARMY RETIREMENT SERVICES: Hosted by the Army Retirement services Office. Contains infromation on benefits and entitlements, as well as other supporting information.
