When a Carrier deploys anywere in the world they have escort. Here is a Photo of the USS Carl Vinson's (CVN-70) battle group. You would see the samething of what just went to the Pursian Gulf with the USS Nimitz (CVN-69).

With every carrier there are a variety of Aircraft on board. This is the LAST Large Carrier Air Group(CAG). The Carrier's Now have 1 Squadron of EA-6B's, 1 Squadron of S-3's, 1 Squadron of F-14's like from top gun, 3 Squadron of F-18's, 1 Squadron of SH-60's Helocopters, and 1 Squadron of E-2's

Some of the missions are nothing more than Escort Missions like this F-14 flying escort for a B-52 in support of Desert Strike authorised by congress in 1996 in which we enlarged the No Fly Zone in IRAQ.

This is a EA-6B Prowler shooting a High Speed Anti-Radation Missle at a traget.

This is one of the last A-6's on it's last deployment with the United States Navy. All active A-6 Intruders were retired after the 1997 deployments. This Aircraft was highlighted in Vietnam and a Book/Movie was based on this Aircraft and Squadron VA-196 that was stationed out of Whidbey Island, Wash. The name of the movie was Flight of the Intruder.

Every year the United States Navy takes part of Seattle Sea Fair and this is on of many aircraft that are on diplay during that time. This is a EA-6B on Seattle's Sky line.
