Well can we possibly say here? We decided to Host another Exchange Student. His name is Steffen. And Steffen is from Mercur, Germany. However we don't know all that much about Steffen. We've talked once on the telephone and he seems like a pretty cool guy. Steffen likes PC's and plays different kinds of sports. Michelle and I hope he takes advantage of the sports here in Fairport.
Well here it is September and Steffen is here with us now. Everything is going really well. Steffen is playing American Football and seems to be enjoying it very much. Steffen is a really good guy somewhat quiet but in time that will all change. School wise Steffen is doing fairly well. As of now Steffen and I went to Cedar Point and he was pretty impressed with the Millennium and Raptor
Now it is November and Steffen has come along way. Talking more and more and feeling more comfortable than ever before I think. Steffen recently has joined the basketball team and practicing just about every day. He is also getting his Ohio Drivers License now but attending Drivers Ed as well.
Were going into Easter Season and Steffen is having a great time. Recently he has joined the Track Team and seems to be enjoying it. Honestly we were hoping he would join Baseball but as long as he is happy it really doesn't matter to us. His grades thus far are fantastic and maintaining over a 4.0 gpa so not bad really.
Let's see what else can we possibly say about Steffen. For one thing this young man made allot of good friends here. He has joined the Track Team. The Awards this guy has received is totally unreal. Steffen has been a straight A student since the day he arrived. He has accomplished so much is just a short amount of time. Steffen and his friends have made a very good impression on the Minor League Baseball Team here. He has made friends with some of the Captain's Players. Mainly a guy named Cooper. Steffen has received a baseball bat with all their names on it. Steffen's friends gave him a going away party this past weekend. And people I have to say my wife and I are so much impressed with everything.
Steffen left to go to back for Germany this morning. And emotions were running extremely high for all of us today. Steffen was ready to go back but the love we have for each other is very strong. Was so damn hard to see him leave it really was. And you know what people? It was hard for him as well. If you don't believe me ask him yourself. Sure he will tell you the truth.
Steffen started school in Germany already and he is doing very well for himself. We still talk to him allot and tell you this guys, Steffen learned so much about himself and life in general. Is one of our most successful students we've had over the years. Steffen is also playing football and is he even on the team. The Cottbus Crayfish is what they are called. Check it out if you will.
Well it's been awhile since Steffen has left us and he is doing very well for himself. He's happy and that is more important than anything we could ever ask. He's still in school though. And we still talk quite allot so that is something that won't change.
Well it has been over a year since Steffen has left Fairport. And the kids at school still talk about Steffen. Not only that the teachers tell me how devoted he was to his school work. Steffen came back for a visit this past August for 2 weeks. Seeing this young man again feels like nothing has changed between us. And that is a fact as well. Had such a good time and good to have him home once again.
