CANADIAN FORCES BASE MOOSE JAW

2CFFTS Crest               15 Wing, CFB Moose Jaw Crest

MOOSE JAW, SASKATCHEWAN

Canadian Forces Base Moose Jaw is located in the southern tip of Saskatchewan.  The base is located five miles south of the town of Moose Jaw.  Moose Jaw is a picturesque prairie town with a population of 35,000.  Located just 45 minutes to the east is Regina, the provincial capital, population 180,000.  The other major city in the province is Saskatoon. Saskatoon is located roughly 2 hours north of Moose Jaw and has a population of 200,000. Minot AFB, North Dakota is 240 miles southeast of Moose Jaw.  CFB Moose Jaw started as a pilot training base in WWII, turning out pilots for the RAF, RCAF, and RNZAF.  It closed after the war, only to reopen in 1953, again as a training base.  It's since continued that tradition, and now hosts the NATO Flying Training Program in Canada (NTFC), as well as the Snowbirds aerobatic team.
