TOUR LENGTH: 36 months

DUTY TITLE: Aeromedical Evacuation Training Instructor

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsible for all planning, formal classroom/flight instruction, and evaluation of 54 initial and refresher aeromedical evacuation crew members per year, including 12 international students from five NATO countries. Develops course training plans, publications, and associated training guides. Responsible for medical training portion of five CC-150 and three CC-130 Loadmaster courses per year as guest lecturer. Acts as liaison between the Canadian Forces and United States Air Force Aeromedical agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

ESSENTIAL:
a. Registered nurse with certification in Flight Nursing from the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine.
b. Recent (within past 4 to 5 years) flight nursing experience, including being an instructor and at optimum having been a Stan/Eval Examiner.
c. ACLS Certification d. Theoretical working knowledge of battlefield nursing and tactical air evacuation.

DESIRABLE:
a. Current battlefield nursing or ATLS course
b. Completion of USAF Instructional Course.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret.
