UNIT/LOCATION: 1 Canadian Air Division (1CAD), CFB Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

RANK: Major
AFSC: 11F4 or 12F4 (Fighter pilot/navigator)

TOUR LENGTH: 24 months

DUTY TITLE: Chief, Joint and Fighter Exercises

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Liaises with other capability components, other government departments, and foreign militaries on matters concerning 1 CAD joint and combined exercises and operations. Develops doctrine and policy for employment of the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) and oversees training of the deployable Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) staff. Leads the development, planning, and execution of joint and combined exercises and training programs, including 1 CAD's premier operational exercise, CANJEX FALCON (CJF). Oversees and actively plans, develops, and coordinates all major domestic and international fighter exercise programs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

ESSENTIAL:
a. Fighter pilot/WSO/EWO.

DESIRABLE:
a. Recent flying experience.
b. Previous FAC, ALO, or air-to-ground experience.
c. Joint Intermediate Service School or Canadian Forces Command and Staff College.
d. NATO or NORAD experience.
e. Unit or HQ level exercise planning experience.
f. Air Operations Center experience.
g. French language proficiency/fluency.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret.
