Submarine Diving
USS GEORGE C. MARSHALL (SSBN 654)
Diving in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland - April 1989
In 1989 the submarine tender, USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33), left Holy Loch for an 8-10 day
underway. On the way down the Firth of Clyde (a body of water similar to the Chesapeake Bay
here in the U.S.) the MARSHALL pulled up alongside and gave a diving demonstration. These
pictures are not the best, but it was quite a thrill for all of those that watched.
