Whenever I see this picture, I am reminded of the Arlo Guthrie album Alice's Restaurant and his description of the "Group 'W' Bench." Who are these folks you ask? This is the USS JACKSONVILLE (SSN 699) "GOAT LOCKER" aka Chief's Mess from Med Cruise '93. The picture was taken topside aft of the sail. The ship was tied up to the USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33) on the island of Santo Stefano, Sardinia.
