Enrollments are now being taken - you can be a member of the Rhode Island Chapter of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War!

Requirements for membership include:

• Male, over 14 years of age
• Interest in the Civil War
• Interest in veterans affairs
• Enjoy learning more about the Civil War (or teaching about it!)
• Want to learn more of our heritage
• Relative in the Civil War is not required - up to 1/3 membership in a Camp can be Associate
• Residence in Rhode Island not required!
• Women are encouraged to join the Auxiliary

The Camps in Rhode Island are heavily involved in Graves Registration, that is, locating Civil War Veterans graves in this State as well as locating Rhode Island Civil War Veterans graves in other states and countries. From this information, flagging on Memorial Day, cemetery cleanups, gravestone and monument repairs are undertaken. Also, school educational programs, visits to the Rhode Island Veterans Home and preparing to set up a museum are all being undertaken.
