In the Name of Allah, most Compassionate, most Merciful

Men and women are not allowed to imitate each other in anyway.  It is haram in Islam and something cursed by Allah if a person does it.  I will cover some of the things concerning men imitating women, or dressing like them or doing something prohibited in Islam which is only allowed for women.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.774 Narrated by Ibn Abbas
The Prophet cursed effeminate men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, "Turn them out of your houses." The Prophet turned out such-and-such man, and 'Umar turned out such-and-such woman.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4058 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As
A man wearing two red garments passed the Prophet (peace be upon him) and gave him a greeting, but he did not respond to his greeting.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 5176 Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) forbade wearing of silk and yellow clothes, and the gold ring, and the reciting of the Qur'an in the ruku' (state of kneeling in prayer).

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.104 Narrated by Al Bara bin Azib
...He forbade us to wear golden rings (even golden copper), to use silver utensils, to use Mayathir (cushions of silk stuffed with cotton and placed under the rider on the saddle), the Qasiyya (linen clothes containing silk brought from an Egyptian town), the Istibraq (thick silk) and the Dibaj (another kind of silk).

From the hadith we can see that colors that are generally for women are not allowed for men including yellow, (gold) red colors etc.  Now a days men wear silk type polyester clothes and embroidered and trimmed clothes in gold/yellow color or clothes resembling women's clothes or color used for women's clothes.  It is all haram.  Even if a material contains little bit of silk or silk type material for men, it is not allowed as well.  A lot of show off devil scholars wear nice beautiful embroidered in gold color long silken type flowing clothes and the further the ummah and the people going away from Islam.  They also wear color that resemble red or other non allowed colors.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.537 Narrated by Hudhaifa
The Prophet said, "Do not drink in gold or silver utensils, and do not wear clothes of silk or Dibaj, for these things are for them (unbelievers) in this world and for you in the Hereafter."

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4117 Narrated by Mu'awiyah
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Do not ride on silk stuff and panther skins.

Also for men, letting the beard grow and trimming the moustache is part of manhood and if a person shaves it is to resemble women.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 502 Narrated by Aisha
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Ten are the acts according to fitrah: clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, snuffing up water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes, and cleaning one's private parts with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth.

Quran 59:7 "So take what the Apostle assigns to you and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear Allah; for Allah is strict in Punishment."
