These are some of the unexploded devices that the Bru dig up to sell for scrap metal. The rounds have to be cut open and the explosives must be removed before the metal can be sold for scrap. It has been estimated that over 100 Bru are killed each year digging up and disarming these devices. On his visits to Khe Sanh, Glenn Prentice has been teaching the Bru how to identify and disarm the different types of explosives. The Bru say that his classes have saved many lives.
