ARTICLE I THE ASSOCIATION OF GUNNER'S MATES
The name of this Association is The Association of Gunner's Mates, herein called "The Association".
ARTICLE II OBJECTIVES
Section 1.
The objectives of the Association shall be to promote the professionalism and safety of the Gunner's Mate Rating within the United States Navy, the United States Coast Guard, and the Department of Defense. To provide technical and professional support whenever possible to the Gunner's Mates in the Fleet.
Section 2.
To cause improved communications and increase cooperation between Gunner's Mates and the personnel responsible for the design and procurement of weapons systems, small arms, ordnance components and associated hardware.
Section 3.
To continually improve and encourage proper supervision of ordnance evolutions.
Section 4.
To provide friendship, camaraderie, and communication for shipmates involved in one of the oldest ratings, while preserving the history of our past and current Naval Ordnance and Gunnery.
Section 5.
To recognize annually, the most outstanding Gunner's Mate, with that recognition to be called the "Gunner of the Year".
Section 6.
To support a scholarship fund to promote recognition and remembrance
of those Gunner's Mates who have sacrificed their lives for their country.
The scholarship shall be dedicated to the memory of Paul Henry Carr,
GM3/c and shall bear his name.
