USS LSM-18




USS LSM-18 was built at the Brown Ship-Building Company in Houston, Texas. It was commissioned June 14, 1944. Lt. William B. Wilder, USNR, was the commanding officer of record. The ship was involved in the following actions:

*Leyte landings, Oct. 13-Nov. 29, 1944
*Ormoc Bay landings, Dec. 7-8, 1944
*Lingayen Gulf landings, Jan. 16-18, 1945
*Marivelas-Corregidor landings, Feb.14-28, 1945
*Mindanao Island landings, Mar. 10, Apr. 17-23, May 10-16, 1945
*Balikpapan Operations, June 26-July 6, 1945

USS LSM-18 was decommissioned at Terminal Island, San Pedro, CA on March 26, 1946. It was sold to the
A. G. Schoonmaker Co. NY, Feb. 16, 1947 and was converted to a barge.
