My name is Rod Diery and I live in the little country town of KULIN in Western Australia. My main interests include collecting and restoring military vehicles and equipment. I caught this particular disease during nearly 21 years of service in the Australian Army. If you want to know more details of my military service, please look HERE.

I only got really interested in this stuff after I took my discharge in 1992. I currently have several major projects happening. My long term project is an Australian designed and built LIGHT ARMOURED CAR of 1942 known in service as a ROVER. I only acquired this vehicle at Easter 1997 and I am still looking for many parts before I start restoration. These vehicles were built on a Ford Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) chassis. I am also restoring three other CMP trucks, a 1942 Chevrolet C15 GS truck, a 1943 Chevrolet C15A wireless van and a 1942 Ford F-GT No. 8 gun tractor. Go here to have a look at these projects. Another of my projects is the restoration of my ex-British Army 1953 FV1801 AUSTIN CHAMP which I purchased in 1992 and which should be on the road soon. This vehicle really only needs final assembly to complete it. Unfortunately, the other more projects mentioned above are more interesting to me so the Champ has had to play second fiddle to them.

I am also a member of the Roe Military Collectors Association which was formed in late 1997 to collect and preserve any items of militaria in the Roe District of Western Australia.

My other interests include motor racing of all kinds but especially OFF ROAD RACING.

I also very much enjoy being a volunteer firefighter in the KULIN VOLUNTEER FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE. I am also the Foreman (2IC) and Training Officer of the KVFRS.
