Ready for Liberty in Norfolk

Photo taken on the stbd side of the tank deck, in front of the hatch leading to the only berthing compartment that had a tank deck exit. Left to right - "Sniffer" Lambert, Ed Lange, Roy Reed(a buddy from another ship), "Smiley" McGrath.

A weary sailor returns to the 1159 after losing his fight with "devil rum" in San Diego de Cuba.

Deck apes at the bow in front of the fwd 20MM gun tub. Anyone remember the names of these sailors?
