Having been a member of Air Force ROTC, he was also commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He promptly entered flight school at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California to become an aircraft navigator.
In December 1992, Chris was awarded an MA in International Relations from Webster University, and moved from the active duty Air Force to the Air Force Reserve.
In 2007, Chris and his family moved back to western Pennsylvania where they currently reside.
Chris' hobbies include home brewing, the Society for Creative Anachronism, leatherwork, reading, water sports, movies, flying, and sleep. Chris is also a partner in Silver Hammer Brewing, a mail order home brewing and wine making supply business operating through Kent, Ohio.
