Farewell to a Brother, I had the extreme pleasure to see Tim entertain several thousand Vietnam Veterans at the 1st annual "Nam Jam" in Tucson Arizona back in 1987. What impressed everyone who was there was the heartfelt passion with which he sang and p ayed his music ! Tim not only served his country honorably in Vietnam, he also continued to serve his Brothers-in-Arms throughout his life, you will be sorely missed my friend ......... I have some nerve damage from the radiation from 3 years ago that will be treated at the end of this month and then we hope to get on with our lives. I have gained m weight back, have a good appatite and am getting much stronger. I fish for bass at Lake Fork when I feel good and I feel the best I have in three and one half years. I want you to know that even though there are some very ungrateful people in this world, there are alot who know the price that was paid in war, a very dear one. My mother came here when she was 14 years old, alone, and has been proudly waving an American flag ever since, when I was born she taught me that pride, and respect for ones those that gave so much for ones country is very important. I will pray for you, remember there are those that hold you, and all other veterans in high esteem, and do appreciate the price you have paid for our freedom. DEE.

It is to you and those who fought along side you that we all owe so much to. One day I hope we can truly find a way to pay tribute to those who never got what they deserved!! Maybe one day we can make it happen, but then it should have ahppened at the time you all came home. Anyway God Bless You and I will keeep you in my prayers. Dear Mr. Holiday, I have been listening to you and Mr. Martin since I was about 7, I am now 18.... I feel in-love with you guys when I heard you sing and you helped me find it in myself to write poetry. Most of my poetry is for my father who knew you through the GSVV and D.J. Goodwin and Jonathan "Judge" Hayes. Ya'll were a great inspiration. I have been a Vet Supporter all my life...I back you guys with all my heart and I am so very proud of each and every one of you. I remember when I was about 8 or 9 going to see you with Judge and my parents in Longview Texas and I felt so much pride when I was able to be involved with May the Circle Be Unbroken. My favorite song out of all of Martin and Holidays songs is "One More Day." Keep up the great work...thanks for all your songs and May the Lord Bless you..for you are one of the many Angels that are forever embedded in my heart. Sarah Chisholm Dallas Texas

Dear Tim: I don't know you but I've heard the Martin and Holiday tapes - have a couple myself. The stories you tell in the songs tell me what happened to you in Nam and at home. My favorites are the song about Sugar Bear and the Last Patrol cadance. Hope I can ge the new tape one of these days. I didn't go to Nam - just stateside, but I love the Vietnam veterans and try to give something back to them by volunteering with the VVA chapter in my area. That's about all I can do. You're all my heros. Take care of yourself and get well soon. Maybe someday I'll get to see Martin and Holiday.

Dennis, Please send my regards to Tim. Tim, "Doc", I am glad to get the updates on you and your health. Being a Corpsman is like being a person that knows to much and just not quite enough. I know that we all have a tendency to self-diagnose ourselves. Do , my heart goes out to you and your family. It has been 9 months since my husband went to be with the Lord. There is not a day that goes by that I don't Thank the Lord that He gave us 10 months to say all that we needed to say. We had been married 40 yrs. and there was still things that we needed to tell each other. I say all this because my Marine with 22 yrs. service retired and then spent 22 yrs. as a pastor. Don't leave anything left unsaid. Search your mind and if needs be, write it all down. Share yo r heart with your family. Doc, just know that my prayers are with you and your family. I ask that the Lord uphold you on Eagles Wings. Love In Jesus, Georgia

Christmas was difficult but I made sure that each and every grandchild eceived something that belonged to their Grandad Howdy. Howdy spent 22 yrs. in the USMC then retired in 75 and went on to bible college and then was ordained as a pastor. What a great guy. Sorry, I do carry on about my main man. I do remember you, Doc, in prayer and all those who were left behind. My hats off to you and to all those who gave their all in Nam. My Howdy is buried up on the hill in the National Cemetery here in Portland, Oregon. From the top of the hill, you can see forever. He is buried near those brave men who fought in Korea. Anyway, if you talk to him, tell him the door's always open, etc. Hope you are hangin' tuff - that's what's expected, ya know. But, then I know, there's some days, it's just hangin'. Potty mouth. I was diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension in July. What a drag, but it's better than the alternative (grim reaper). Am on meds that are infused 24 hrs via hickman cath. Not a pretty site, but like I say, consider the alternative and there ain't ne! I love ya man, and miss ya like crazy. " Sim Sala Bim " and Greetings from Cat Yoga Sensei-MIKE GABRIEL .... this IS how I used to say hello to reporters when they called. My name is MIKE GABRIEL and I am a COMEDIAN/ACTOR(SAG - screen actors guild member)But I created an INTERNATIONAL MEDIA HOAX that fooled/hoaxed the media in OVER 220 COUNTRIES with a FUNNY story that I have a Cat Yoga school where I teach YOGA to TURBAN wearing HOUSE-CATS who sit in the LOTUS POSITION while they MEDITATE !!! ( I even did the GERALDO SHOW and Geraldo Rivera reported that Cat Yoga "Sen ei" MIKE GABRIEL was engaged to marry ROSA LOPEZ, the maid from EL SALVADOR who testified in the O.J.SIMPSON Murder Trial) * the BEST PART was when I got DOMINICK DUNNE to write/print in VANITY FAIR MAGAZINE that ROSA LOPEZ ended the engagement because she is ALLERGIC to the CATS at my Cat Yo a school.( how nutty is THAT ??? This is OUR media !!! ) .......ANYWAY, I then got DOMINICK DUNNE to conclude the article with this : Now that ROSA LOPEZ has ended the romance/engagement, I have gone back to my old girlfriend and we are " engaged to be en aged " and she is PORNO SUPER STAR " SAMANTHA STRONG (Veteran of OVER 100 X - rated films who AGREED to play the part of the " OTHER WOMAN " in this funny hoax )...... I think this will cheer you up some. LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST ..... I would to present to you as a FREE GIFT from The JAMES EARL RAY web site (c) a hand signed/AUTOGRAPHED print made from an original "Jail-House Prison-Art " painting by James Earl Ray # 65477. ONLY 1,000 were issued of this RARE and VALUABLE " Limited-Edition " print .... They are listed/advertsied for a much as $500 EACH due to the rarity and AUTHENTIC Signature/Autograph... The title of the painting that this print was made from is : " THE LEGION IN THE BATTLE FOR DIEN BIENPHU,VIETNAM-1954 " ( this AUTHENTIC colorful print depicts the French Foreign Legion firing from their battlements against the opposing Viet Minh forces..... I wish we could afford to present one of these rare print to everyone who deserves one but there are ONLY 1,000 inexistance and they are VERY VALUABLE....PLEASE accept one as a gift from James Earl Ray # 65477, Jerry Ray and the Ray family as well as myself Comedian/Actor(SAG)"Sensei" Mike Gabriel and The JAMES EARL RAY web site (c) and Cat Yoga Productions,Inc. PLEASE send me a snail-mail address where I can send this too and I will gladly send it in a 24 inch lon Postal Mailing Tube that I use for this purpose.... Mr.Holiday might enjoy knowing that MARK HAMILL (Star Wars) owns one of these signed/autographed prints. So does OLIVER STONE(Oscar winning director), CORETTA SCOTT KING and DEXTER KING ( family of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.)JEFFREY TOOBIN(best selling author)MONTEL WILLIAMS(TV talk show Host)DEE SNIDER(Twisted Sister/Rock star) and a few others ..... These people, Martin & Holiday Helped me and my family so much that I could never thank them enough. I am not a praying man, but Doc you have mine. To this day I still see David Rod. at the Vet Center, bec use of them, and I have't killed anyone, including myself. Thank you Doc. I love you. DOC, "Remember the Alamo", and the walkin men down here. Sure do miss the times, that we had in San Antonio. It was the frist day of the rest of my life, thanksto you and Martin. You guys came walking down the highway and I said I need to join them so I did. You and I had a coke down by the river and talked about the War, thanks "Doc". Doing fine on this end,but something is missing . I crossed that line at the Alamo that was on the ground, and made a promise that day like everyone else made. I m sorry that I have not kept in touch, been living in the country with my wife of 7 years now and my two dogs, who are more like kids. We don't do much but work on the house and have fun on our place. Just remember that if you and your wife ever come up i the hillcountry of Pipe Creek,Tx. right out side Bandera.,Tx. let us know and your'll have a place to stay. Well not much of a writer Tim,but I had to write you when I came across this webpage. You have some good friends in Arizona, to have a webpage or you, very nice. Thanks for the time and I hope this letter finds you well "Doc" and I know you have a good women that will take care of you. Tell her Hi and I'll talk with you all later. Take care Bro. Hi Tim: I'm sorry I was not privied to your music or stories, but I know I would have loved them. I'm sorry you're under the weather right now, but perhaps the great ourpouring of prayers and support will help turn the tide. I apologize for not being supportive of your cause way back then, but I was a single mother raising four children. I was just overwhelmed with my own life. I would like to thank you now, for all you have and are presently en- during for our country. Since I have been retired I have become a volunteer at a NJ VA hospital. While coordinating the hospital's special ceremonies, I have done alot of research on POW/MIA Recognition Day. In that area, I have begun reading many books to fill in the gaps. I am outraged and ashamed by so much that I have learned. I'm sorry I was not there for you then. You are in our prayers and we hope you can feel our concern and love. We also than Gunny Fallon and Dennis for allowing us to express our sentiments. Semper Fi Jean Cullen

Hunker down Brother and fight the good fight.
