FHQu Felsennest

Location:

The FHQu (headquarter of Hitler) was situated in a small village called Rodert, not far from Bad Münstereifel in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

History:

This operational headquarter of Adolf Hitler was setup to lead "Fall Gelb", codename for the invasion of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The FHQu was used during the period 10-05-40 to 06-06-40. The core of the FHQu was a concrete bunker, called Führerbunker.

Current status:

In the last months of the war, the bunker was blown up by the retreating Wehrmacht. Only the remains of the bunker can be found back today.

In the center of the village ther remains of the former guest bunker can be found. In the woods around the village are several ammunition bunkers and concrete foxholes.
