Deputy Cox joined the Sheriff's Department in 1995. He served as an officer with the North Manchester Police Department as an officer and served in the US Army.
He has attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Police Academy and has had training in Operating while intoxicated detection, breath test operation and drug interdiction.
Deputy Cox is assigned to the third shift (12 to 8AM) and his duties are general patrol, traffic law enforcement and calls for service. He is the county "nighwatchman". patroling the towns and checking businesses as most normally sleep. He is the department's (along with Deputy Monce) accident reconstructionist. He is a breath test operator for the department and is a member of the local MADD Coordination Committe. Deputy Cox has a great interest in getting drunk drivers off our roadways, as is shown with his work with MADD.
He has been honored with the Operation Pull Over Highway Safety Officer Award and has been awarded with two MADD awards, one as a North Manchester officer and one with the Sheriff's Department, to honor his efforts in fighting drunk drivers.
Deputy Cox is single and has two children by a previous marriage, a son and a daughter.
Bryan also has an interest in SWAT, and has attended several schools on SWAT training, including training at Fort McClellan, Al.
