Dallas Winchester

Major Winchester has been with the Wabash County Sheriff's Department since January 1, 1995. He is the SWAT team leader and is a certified investigator of fire, arson and explosives. He formerly served in special forces with US Air Force. Major Winchester is a graduate of the New Sheriff's School and has recieved specialized training in law enforcement investigative hyponsis, explosives and incendiary, gang and drug crimes, and advanced interview and interrogation. He serves as liaison between between the Wabash County Sheriff's Department and fire services and is also in charge of the Sheriff's Reserves program. Major Winchester has been named American Legion Firefighter of the Year and Gideon Bible Man of the Year.

Family

Major Winchester is married to Barbara and they have two children and four grandchildren. One child, Teri Weaver is the Wabash County Prosecutor's Investigator.

Major Winchester has been a great assist to the department. His knowledge and abilities has greatly enhanced the department and its workings. He has a lot of "stories" about the history of Wabash and the area, which are very interesting to listen to.
