Vicki's titles are listed above. As the Sheriff's Secretary she is responsible for our book keeping, tax warrant collection, payroll, and all secretarial duties. As special deputy, she is able to assist in transporting female inmates to various locations (prison, docters etc). Vicki joined the Sheriff's Department on January 1, 1995.
Vicki was married to Jim Williams, a Vietnam combat veteran, who died in 1989. She is now single and lives with her mother. She has one son, John, who is 29 years old.
Vicki lists as hobbies: writing and reading. Nor much is known about her reading, but about writing, she writes a weekly column for the Wabash Plain Dealer. Her writings have appeared in Newsweek, Sport Illustrated, McCalls, MS, USA Today and several other newspapers and magazines. She has done speaking engagements all over the United States and has taught writing courses at Skidmore College in New York, Eastern Writer's Club in Maryland, Manchester College and Purdue University. She has appeared on Good Morning America, Hour Magazine, People, NBC News and many other regional television shows. At the request of Senator Edward Kennedy, she appeared as a witness at a Senate Policy Forum on unemployment in Washington DC.
Vicki's goals are modest, with all she has done in her life. She wishes to continue working at the Sheriff's Department and to keep her writings going. She also has a novel in the works, that she has over 100 pages written.
Vicki graduated from Wabash High School in 1964 and from Indiana Business College in 1966. She has lived and worked in several locations in the United States, with the last job she had before the Sheriff's Department being at Wabash City Hall for the City of Wabash.
Her interests are writing (of course) the Vietnam War and law enforcement.
